I am woman that's my superpower.

This was part of the Mixed Media Monthly challenge. I have developed an obsessions with the sprays. This one has dylusions  ink sprays and a bit of Tsukineko coloring. I used some techniques I learned while playing in a Seth Apter class to give the stars a little bit of dimension and added the stanza from Phenomenal Woman using a white uni-ball pen. I have always loved the artistry of Maya Angelou's words so this was an awesome excerpt to add to my personal art this month. The woman is done with Viva Decor Modelling Cream spread on through a stencil I had.

I'm a Teacher What's your superpower?

Mixed Media Blog Challenge  Teacher SuperPower
This was my first completed entry for the Mixed Media Monthly Challenge.
I am an educator and have been for almost 16 years. I work specifically with Special Education students so the whole apple thing was a kind of funny giggle. The ruler is ribbon I bought at Artistic Artifacts, my local  mixed media shop. I couldn't resist that play on traditional teacher fare either. I then sprayed it with Dylusions spray in Lemon Zest Yellow. I have been having lots of fun lately mixing and matching those sprays. After the ruler was dry I ran it through my Xyron machine to add adhesive to it. The stickers were part fo some old stash I found while cleaning recently. I also took up Zentangle a few years ago which was the motivation for the decorations inside the apple and on the worm. As a teacher I fee like I have one of the most important jobs in the world, that of educating our future leaders, doctors, nurses, entrepreneurs, artists, and even a few educators. What better superpower is there?

Mixed Media February Challenge

New things to play with I was playing with my Dylusions sprays and a Heidi Swapp that I found on clearance and was pleasantly surprised when the red one had a shiny hint of purple.
I pulled out my Xyron Create a Sticker Maker to use with some Valentines tags and made ATC's to trade with my creative tribe of artists at JAMS for our January meeting. I used the VersaMark to create water marks on the paper before spraying and sprayed the three colors. I was not thrilled with the watermarks so I sprayed over them. I am a signer so the alphabet stamps had to be incorporated into the design. And of course it was Valentine's Day so I had to use all of my love stamps. Had fun with this challenge may have to participate again
The challenge I participated in can be found Mixed Media Monthly Challenge
